Toads and frogs... Ranch critters and a wild flower meadow... Welcome to nature's playground. We love kids, and have an excellent childcare program that is complimentary. Your hostess has two children, ages 3 and 5, and our well qualified, experienced childcare provider will be happy to look after your little ones. While there is no structured program, we know your child will enjoy a Huckleberry Fin/ Becky Thatcher experience. Typical activities include animal tracking, orienteering, scavenger hunts, nature walks, fort building, arts and crafts, story times, or outdoor games, depending on the weather, group dynamics, and the ages of the children involved.
 

Your child may begin the day by picking (and eating) strawberries in the ranch vegetable garden, which could be followed by a lesson in horse care and a ride around the meadow. After a picnic lunch, he or she might gather natural materials like pinecones, feathers and moss, and then glue them on a horseshoe to make a ranch keepsake. Story telling in the teepee would complete the day.
 

Children are welcome to take part in trail riding while under supervision of their parents. If under 12 years of age, participation in an unescorted group will be at the discretion of the wrangler, based on the child's riding ability and maturity. Young children and those needing more practice can be led around the barn area and home meadow, when the opportunity arises. Otherwise, parents may enjoy riding time while their children are playing back at the ranch, under the close supervision of our childcare provider.


Childcare is provided between 9am and 4pm. Due to our wilderness environment, children should remain under the supervision of their parents at all other times.
